Box Cutter Found on Bench Outside Westfield Courtroom

At the conclusion of Municipal Court proceedings, a box cutting tool was found outside of a court room on a hallway bench. It was left there by person(s) unknown.

Report of criminal mischief at the PSE&G sub-electrical center, 1742 Rahway Avenue. PSE&G representatives reported that at sometime during the evening hours on April 28, 2014, actor(s) unknown cut a large hole in the chain link fence surrounding the electric substation. No other damage was reported.

May 1, 2014 7:15 p.m.

Andrea M. Ortis, 21, of Westfield was arrested on two outstanding traffic warrants ($67.00, $77.00) issued out of the Westfield Municipal Court pursuant to turning herself in at Headquarters. Ortis was processed and released after posting full bail.

May 2, 2014 9:02 p.m.

A Scotch Plains resident reported a theft of $30.00 cash from her pocketbook after she had misplaced it earlier in the day and it was later turned in to Headquarters by another party. Once she arrived at Headquarters to retrieve her lost wallet, she discovered the theft.
