BASKING RIDGE, NJ -- The Ridge boys basketball team scored a season-high point total in an 86-53 victory over Somerset Tech in the opening round of the Somerset County Tournament Thursday afternoon.

Senior center Mike Zima scored 20 points for the Red Devils (8-12), who led, 36-21, at the half. Jake Schapiro delivered 15 points for Ridge and Gavin Kreitz clicked for 11 points in the victory.

Norbert Malik of Somerset Tech (10-11) led all scorers with 26 points and grabbed 16 rebounds. Ridge, the ninth seed, will be on the road against eighth-seeded Pingry in the second round of the SCT on Saturday.
