ROSELLE, NJ — After a loss to Rumson Fair Haven earlier this week, Westfield looked strong in a 5-0 win against Glen Rock on Wednesday night.

Senior Nick Forno scored the game’s first goal, after a 2-goal performance against Montclair Kimberley last week.

Junior Mack Alvino got the start in net for Glen Rock. Jack Ruckman played goalie for the Blue Devils. Westfield scored four more in the remainder of the game, goals coming from Matteo Mancheno, Thomas Conrod, Joe Brogan and Kyle Snyder to close it out.

Head coach Joe Bertucci noted their team efforts in their victory.

“It’s a mixture of confidence and a better attitude,” he said. “Sometimes a loss is better for a team. That way we can learn from our mistakes. I think we learned our loss and bounced back well today.”

Westfield was defeated by Rumson Fair Haven 7-1 on Monday. The team felt they had more chemistry, playing as a whole in Wednesday’s win against Glen Rock.

Westfield will play West Essex at Richard Codey Arena on Sunday at 5 p.m.
