PATERSON, NJ- For the second time in a weekend members of the Paterson Fire Department performed a successful rescue at the Great Falls.
According to a Facebook post by Mayor Andre Sayegh, Paterson Firefighter Justin Angelica and members of Paterson Rescue 2 pulled a man who was clinging to the rocks to safety.
Speaking to TAPinto Paterson after the rescue FMBA Local 2 President Kyle Hughes said he wasn’t surprised by the successful effort and that the residents are in good hands with the Paterson Fire Department, no matter what the emergency is.
“Our members are the best in the business, as busy and well trained as anyone out there,” he said. “We’re able to handle any and all situations because we take pride in putting others first. A great job as always.”
On Sunday, Captain Scott Parkin and Paterson Rescue 2 recovered a 50 pound pitbull that had become stranded on a ledge more than 75 feet below the bridge that crosses the chasm.
