SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Department of Community Programs’ summer concert series continues next Tuesday, July 22, with The Bridesmaids in concert. Summit’s finest non-profit organizations will also be present this night as part of Community Night 2014. Both the concert and Community Night will begin at 7 p.m. on Summit’s Village Green.
The Bridesmaids, an eight-piece band, will perform hits from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and today. This is “girl power” at its finest, featuring songs from Lady Gaga, Madonna, Katy Perry, and more.
During the show, more than 30 non-profit organizations will line The Green with interactive displays and promotional giveaways. Event-goers are encouraged to come out and show their support for Summit’s non-profit organizations and all they do for the community throughout the year.

Annual Summer Movie Series Begins July 24
Summit Community Programs is set to kick off its annual summer movie series next July 24 on Summit’s Village Green at 8 p.m. The first movie of the 2014 series will be "Despicable Me 2." The entire series will run every Thursday night through to August 14.
The Screen on the Green Outdoor Movie Series, now in its fourth year of production, is a free series featuring a 36’ x 24’movie screen, cinema sound, and the projection clarity of today’s best BluRay players. Movie-goers are encouraged to come early to reserve their spots on The Green, as well as to interact and take pictures with a few of the characters that will be featured on the “big screen” that night.
The July 24 showing of Despicable Me 2 is sponsored by Smythe Volvo and Aston Martin of Summit and Short Hills, Momentum, the Rubino OB/GYN Group, State Farm; Glisel Jimenez, Citi Bank, Red Mango of Milburn, and The Connection for Women and Families. Pizza Vita will be on hand, for attendees who wish to grab dinner before or during the movie.
