BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Bridgewater Township held its annual Stone Soup event at Kid Street Park Saturday, with a goal of promoting the goodness of fruits and vegetables.

Mayor Dan Hayes presented Girl Scout Troop 60802 with a proclamation declaring September a "Fruits and Vegetables More Matters" month. The troop arrived early at the event to prepare fresh vegetables and fruit to pass out to guests.

The campaign has been recognized by the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, supporting the efforts of the New Jersey Fresh Farm Program. The goal is to call attention to the positive benefits of earing a variety of fruits and vegetables every day.
