BRIDGEWATER, NJ - Bridgewater-Raritan High School senior Manav Verma is holding a fundraising basketball game to benefit the Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania.
The game will pit teachers against students to raise money for the hospital.
Verma said he got the idea for the fundraiser after hosting a similar fundraiser for hurricane relief in Puerto Rico last year.
"When my senior year started this year, I wanted to give back to a bigger organization so I chose CHOP," he said.
The game will be held June 7 at 6 p.m. in the main gym at Bridgewater-Raritan High School.
On the student team are Verma, Navrit Singh, Joe Kinder, Chad Larsen, Abelard Brunache, Alisa Hasanaj, Katie Kowal, Dara Tracy, Morgan Winchock and Meghan Ball. Verma said the teacher team is still being organized.
"People can get involved by donating to our fundraiser and spreading word about the event," Verma said.
