BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The undefeated Bridgewater-Raritan football team survived a dramatic comeback by Ridge to hold on for a 30-29 victory in overtime in the semifinal round of the Section 2, Group 5 playoffs Friday night.

Bridgewater-Raritan (11-0) ran out to a 20-0 lead in the first quarter, but Ridge (6-5), which still trailed, 23-7, at halftime, scored touchdowns with two-point conversions in both the third and the fourth quarters to forge a 23-23 tie and force overtime.

In OT, John Kaye's 3-yard TD run and Justin Davidovicz' point-after kick gave Bridgewater a 30-23 lead on its initial OT possession. When Ridge got the ball, the Red Devils scored on Kermit Hoffman's 3-yard TD run and then elected to go for the win instead of the tie, but the pass for the two-point conversion was incomplete.
