PARKLAND, FL- Parkland residents are moving to Phase 2 of reopening on Monday, September 14. Governor Ron DeSantis has given Broward County the green light to move into the second phase of reopening, though local residents won't notice a significant difference from what's open today.

Movie theaters, restaurants, and bowling alley are already open on a limited basis, which will continue on Monday as the reopening will remain staggered depending on COVID-19 infection rates.

Bars and nightclubs will remain closed at this time during Phase 2.

One of the most significant steps of moving to Phase 2 is that it lays the foundation for the potential reopening of Broward Schools in October. Broward County Public Schools have a workshop scheduled for Tuesday, September 22 to discuss the reopening plan.

Governor DeSantis made the Phase 2 announcement on Friday at the Frost Museum of Science in Miami.
