Bruce H. Bergen, Esq., of Springfield, was appointed by the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders to serve as the new Union County Counsel, at their regular meeting of June 4, 2020.  Bergen previously served six years on the freeholder board, beginning in 2013, including two one-year terms as board chairman in 2016 and 2017.  Bergen has been a practicing attorney in New Jersey for more than 40 years, served 17 years as Springfield township attorney and has been Executive Deputy Union County Counsel for the past 14 months.  Beginning in January 2019, Bergen has been the attorney to the Springfield Zoning Board of Adjustment.  He also remains “of counsel” with the law firm of Krevsky, Silber & Bergen in Cranford, in part representing applicants before local land use boards.
