Bugsy Malone Jr., The Musical Comes to St. Bart's

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ - Theatre to All will present Bugsy Malone Jr. on Dec 13 and 14 at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Church in Scotch Plains.

In its fourth year at St. Bart’s, Theatre to All was founded, directed and performed by kids on a mission to raise money for the needy in the local community. In lieu of admission, voluntary donations will be collected for the “Charity Starts at Home” fund, which provides financial relief to families in Scotch Plains and surrounding areas.

Lina Zikas, founder and director, chose the musical based on the original movie starring a young Jodie Foster and Scott Baio. A tale of bumbling bad guys, a smooth-talking, good-at-heart guy named Bugsy, this musical send-up of Hollywood’s old gangster films is a fun night out for the family.

With more than 30 kids and teens sharing their time, talent and passion, the community is invited to help not only support their cause but also reinforce the values of giving back. Last year, they were able to raise over $3,000, which went to helping families whose homes had been destroyed by Hurricane Sandy and replenishing the food bank.

Shows are Friday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec 14 at 2:30 p.m. in the auditorium of St. Bartholomew Academy, 2032 Westfield Ave., Scotch Plains.

What Do The PSAT Results Mean?

The loss of a job; illness of the major breadwinner, or an increase in rent due to gentrification can catch families in a downward ...
