The Lansdale Farmers' Market is sponsoring a food raising event at the weekly market this Saturday to benefit Manna on Main Street. Customers are encouraged to “Buy 2, Donate 1” to Manna right at the market site. The Lansdale Market maintains a strong relationship with Manna and all donations will be given directly to Manna on Main Street to stock their cupboard.
The Lansdale Farmers’ Market is a non-profit organization, incorporated in Pennsylvania in 2012, that was organized in 2008 at a grass roots level by local volunteer residents. The Market first opened for business in 2009. Since that time the market has grown from approximately 8 vendors to 35 this season, offering a broad array of fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, meats, fromage, yogurt, butter, eggs, chicken, sausage and pork as well as specialty foods such as freshly roasted coffee, prepared on site dumplings and crepes, guacamole, olive oil, nut butters, wine, maple syrup, handmade soaps and cleaners, spices, pickles, granola, fresh bread and baked goods, mushrooms, landscape plants, annual plants and hanging baskets plus a broad array of crafts including jewelry, fabric bags and hand made furniture.
The mission of the Lansdale Farmers’ Market is to maintain a seasonal farmers’ market that supports local producers of healthy, nourishing foods and quality, crafted goods coupled with a desire to build community while providing educational programs that promote local, sustainable living.
Market values are Community. Honesty. Friendliness. Organic. Authentic. Fun. Local. Education. Farmer Friendly.
The Market is open every Saturday through November 1st, rain or shine, 9 AM to 1 PM in the parking lot of the Century Plaza office building at 100 West Main Street, across from the train station. Visit www.lansdalefarmersmarket.org for more information.
