Car Damaged in Theft Attempt in South Orange

SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – A South Orange Avenue resident reported that someone tried to steal his 2003 Audi sometime during the overnight hours of June 15. The suspect entered the car, which was parked in the victim’s driveway, and broke the ignition system.

In a separate incident, a West Orange resident’s car was vandalized.

The victim stated that he parked his 1997 Toyota in the transit lot adjacent to Church Street at about 5 p.m. on June 20, and that when he returned a few hours later, he found the front and rear passenger’s side tires slashed.
