Car Overturns on Watchung Avenue in Montclair, Injuring Child

MONTCLAIR, NJ - At approximately 4:46 p.m. on Thursday, there was a motor vehicle accident on Watchung Avenue. A 53-year-old Bronx, N.Y. woman, Dorreth Vassell, struck a parked vehicle while traveling east on Watchung Avenue, causing her vehicle to flip over.    

Vassell had two children in the vehicle with her, a 4-year-old and an 8-year-old, at the time of the accident. The 4-yearold sustained a laceration to the right index finger and was the only one to sustain any injury in the accident. There were no other reported injuries. All three individuals were transported to HackensackUMC Mountainside for evaluation.  

Vassell, who was driving a 2003 Toyota Camry, was issued a summons for careless driving for striking the 2012 Mazda.

Detective Sgt. Wilhelm Young of the Montclair Police Department, said, "It is still pending investigation."

Woodland Park Police Recover Body in Morris Canal
