Cardinals Boys Basketball Team Bounces Edison Out of States

PLAINFIELD, NJ - Clinging to a two-point lead after three quarters, the Plainfield boys basketball team pulled away down the stretch for a 59-50 victory over Edison in the first round of the NJSIAA Central Jersey, Group 4 state tournament on Tuesday.

Clarence Hoover scored 16 points for Plainfield (13-10), which outscored Edison, 12-5, to close out the game at Rico Parenti Gymnasium. Jachai Simmons scored 11 points and Cristan Cook netted 10 for Plainfield, which trailed, 28-27, at halftime.
