Career Day at Sparta Middle School

SPARTA, NJ- Sparta Middle School recently hosted its fourth annual 8th grade Career Day.  This year the event featured sixteen presenters from a variety of professions.  Prior to the event, students are given a roster of the presenters that includes background information that includes related fields and interests.  The students then picked three separate sessions to attend, based on their interest and curiosity. 

Douglas Layman, principal of Sparta Middle School, said of this year’s event, “I want to thank all of the presenters for another successful SMS Career Day.  We are so thankful for their willingness to share with our students their professional stories and their advice for pursuing related careers.  A common message from all of the presenters was to work hard and to follow your passion.”

Sparta Police Seek Help Identifying Car Burglary Suspect

SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta police are asking the community for help in locating a person of interest in several car burglaries.
