MOUNTAINSIDE, NJ — A car stolen out of Westfield was found wrecked early Thanksgiving morning at the intersection of Mountain Avenue and Route 22, police said.

While officers were investigating the crash, a second vehicle stolen from Westfield sped past prompting officers to chase it, police said. Borough police said they ended the chase “out of concern for the safety of the public.”

Two vehicles stolen from Alden Avenue had both been left unlocked with key fobs inside them, police in Westfield said.
