Cash and Jewelry Taken in Jackson Avenue Burglary; Homeowners May Have Spotted Intruder

CHATHAM, NJ - Cash and jewelry were missing when homeowners reported a burglary at their Jackson Avenue residence on Jan. 11.

It is possible that the intruder was just leaving as the owners returned as a family member in the car believed she saw someone in the woods near the house as they were turning into the driveway.

The homeowners arrived home at approximately 9:10 p.m. and patrols responded to Jackson Avenue, near the dead end, on a report of a burglary. The homeowners discovered that someone entered their house and took cash and jewelry. There were no signs of a forced entry and all of the doors were locked when the owners returned home.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Chatham Borough Detective Bureau at 973-635-8553.
