Chatham 4x800 Record Falls Again - 13 Seconds Faster

NEW YORK - Andrew Vena, Kevin Gesell, Parth Shah and Dominic Vernazza combined to smash the Chatham school record in the 4x800 relay, beating their own mark by 13 seconds, Saturday at the New Balance Games held in the New York Armory.

The 4x800 team finished 11th out of 67 teams, which included a field of the top teams throughout the Northeast.

It was the second time in six days that the 4x800 team set a new school record. Vena led off with a 2:03.7, Gesell then ran 2:03.3 and Shah clocked 2:05.4 on the third leg. Vernazza anchored with a 2:00.3 for an official team time of 8:13.25.

Also performing well for Chatham was the shuttle hurdles team of John Walsh, Harris Eisenhardt, Justin Corbitt and Phil Heller, which placed seventh in 33.31. The 4x200 team mof Noah Walsh, Nick Ferrone, Justin Corbitt and Jaylen Haye ran 1:40.26.

Chatham's other 4x800 relay team of Dan Bresnahan, Grant Hauck, Will Mitchell and Patrick Mortensen finished in 8:49.7,
