CHATHAM, NJ - An ordinance that will allow for the creation of an off-leash dog area at Shepard Kollock Park was passed unanimously on Monday night at the regular meeting of the Borough of Chatham Council.

The ordinance will be up for adoption on Sept. 11.

Council members Vicki Fife and Bob Weber had presented the idea at the July 9 council meeting.

A fence would separate the off-leash dogs on the "back 40" from the rest of the park and coincide with stricter enforcement of leash laws in the rest of the park.
