Chatham Farmer's Market Celebrates Back-to-School Week

CHATHAM, NJ - The seasons are changing and the Chatham Borough Farmers’ Market is celebrating Back-to-School week with a free Market pencil and healthy snack for all local children.
Visit the volunteer booth on Saturday, Sept. 6, to pick up your pencil and certificate redeemable the following week for a free apple, courtesy of Melick’s Towne Farm. Jersey Fresh produce season continues through the end of November at the Market.
During this transitional period as summer crops are phasing out and fall crops are just starting to be harvested, shoppers can find a unique variety of produce including, but certainly not limited to, many types of apples, tomatoes and squash, eggplant, Brussels sprouts, winter squash and root vegetables. All of the delicious, locally-grown seasonal produce is in addition to the Market’s season-long poultry and poultry products, meats, honey, specialty foods, and local artisan vendors.
Welcoming residents and visitors alike, the Chatham Borough Farmers’ Market is open rain or shine, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. through Nov. 22 in the Fairmount Avenue train station parking lot. Parking is free.
