Chatham Gears for 60th Fourth of July Parade; Ryan to Serve as Grand Marshall


CHATHAM, NJ -John F. (Jack, “Red”) Ryan will be the Grand Marshall of Chatham's Fourth of July Parade, which will start on Main Street at 10:30 a.m. on Friday.

The parade will include 10 bands and nine fire departments. There will be a fireworks display at the Chatham Middle School in the evening, featuring the World Champion Santore Brothers of Garden State Fireworks.

Bob Campanell and The Bob Campanell Band, South Jersey’s premier vintage rock and sole band with a passion, will be this year’s fireworks entertainment. Bob and his band come to Chatham straight from the South Jersey Shore.

 “We’re looking forward to coming to Chatham on July 4th night to remember and help celebrate the CFD’s 60th
Anniversary Fourth of July Celebration,” Campanell said. "This will truly be a memorable night “.

Ryan, a 51-year member of the Chatham Fire Department, joined the department in 1963 and lived in Chatham for 42 years. He is returning for the parade from his retirement residence in Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.

Ryan is a former Captain-Engine Company No. 2; Lieutenant- Engine Company No. 2; a Life Member of State Fireman’s Relief Association; former Treasurer, NJ State Fireman’s Relief Association and Member CFD Exempt Association.
