Matt Stubeck of Chatham was recently honored for completing an internship this summer in the legislative office of Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean. Because of his interest in government, Stubeck was encouraged by a family friend to apply for the internship, and he was accepted earlier this year.
"My summer intern team has been a great addition to our legislative office. They have worked diligently on behalf of the
residents of District 21 and the state, and are a valuable asset. I would like to congratulate Matt Stubeck and thank him for his hard work," Kean said.
Stubeck is a rising senior at Chatham High School. Currently serving as the Vice President of his Class of 2015, he also participates actively in a wide range of clubs, from the Model Congress/ Model UN Club to the Teens Connecting with Teens Club, which brings high school students together with children who have special needs. He has also participated in his school's baseball program throughout high school.
"I found interning for Senator Kean to be a very interesting and enjoyable life experience," Stubeck said. "Senator Kean and his staff were incredibly nice and helpful, and they were also able to teach me a lot about what goes into running a governmental office. What I have learned here will definitely help me to make important decisions as I begin to apply to colleges. I am incredibly thankful for having been given this amazing opportunity."
