April 30, 2014 at 10:45 PM

CHATHAM, NJ - The Chatham Township Committee has established a presence on Facebook (www.facebook.com/ChathamTownshipGovernment) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/ChathamTownship) as part of its continuing efforts to increase communications with Chatham Township residents and area businesses.

Speaking on behalf of the Chatham Township Committee, Mayor Kevin Sullivan said, “I’m pleased to announce Chatham Township’s presence on Facebook and Twitter -- two of the most popular social media websites. Our ability to utilize these two sites will support our ongoing efforts to increase communications with residents and area businesses and will complement Alert Chatham Township Now!, (ACT Now!), our Emergency & Community Alert System.

"We encourage residents and local businesses to ‘Like Us’ and ‘Follow Us’ so they can be kept abreast of the various events taking place around town, as well as important emergency notifications. I would like to thank the entire Communications Committee for their efforts in increasing communications with residents, in particular Deputy Mayor Curt Ritter for spearheading these initiatives.”

The Chatham Township Committee, which consists of Mayor Kevin Sullivan, Deputy Mayor Curt Ritter, Kathy Abbott, Bailey Brower, Jr. and Robert Gallop, typically meets the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Chatham Township Municipal Building located at 58 Meyersville Road. Residents are encouraged to attend the bi-weekly Chatham Township Committee Meeting or they can view the proceedings live on Comcast channel 29 and Verizon FiOS channel 26. In addition, a replay of the meetings will also appear on the two channels during the week and are now available on the Chatham Township website www.chathamtownship-nj.gov. Residents can also now review Chatham Township Committee draft agendas, with hyperlinks to draft ordinances and resolutions under consideration, as well as prior meeting minutes online at www.chathamtownship-nj.gov/tc. Chatham Township Committee meeting agenda items, ordinances and resolutions are subject to change and may be withdrawn without public notice prior to the actual meeting.
