CHATHAM, NJ - Chatham Township Mayor Tracy Ness reported the bad news to residents about the delays expected ahead for receiving the coronavirus vaccine.

"This is a situation that is very frustrating for all," Ness said at Thursday's Chatham Township Committee meeting. "The issue that is driving the shortage of appointments is the shortage of vaccines.

"According to our health officer (Mike Fitzgerald), the entire state of New Jersey will only receive 100,000 doses each week. The majority of those does will be given to people who are facing the 30-day window for their second vaccination. This could be a six-month-or-more process."
