Chatham Whistles its Way into the Guinness Book of World Records

CHATHAM, NJ - More than 1,000 people waited patiently in line for their moment, made a practice run and then did what they came to do - set a Guinness World Record.

Chatham celebrated 100 years of its train station by gathering to set a record, simultaneously blowing for 10 seconds on a wooden train whistle on Saturday adjacent to the Chatham Train Station.

Christine Grobert, who chaired he Guinness record effort, ran the crowd through a practice run before the record of 1,210 was set on Saturday during the annual Fishawack festival.
