Children's Chorus Announces Audition Schedule

Auditions for acceptance into the prestigious Children’s Chorus of Sussex County are available by appointment in July and August.  The Children’s Chorus of Sussex County serves school-age children in and around Sussex County, New Jersey, by providing a comprehensive choral music program.  Interested applicants can audition for one of three separate ensembles which perform under the umbrella of the Children’s Chorus of Sussex County:  Bel Canto for beginning singers in grades 1 – 4, Bella Voce for intermediate singers in grades 5 – 8, and Concert Choir for advanced singers in grades 7 – 12. 

 

The Children’s Chorus of Sussex County has several exciting ventures planned for the upcoming season, including the recording of a music track for a video game, as well as a  summer 2015 trip to Syros, Greece to perform in the Festival of the Aegean.  The three choirs also participate in concerts during the winter and spring, and take advantage of several local performance opportunities.  Recently, the group was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City, and at the renowned International Choral Kathaumixw Festival in British Columbia.  Rehearsals take place at Christ Episcopal Church, at 62 Main Street in Newton.

Sparta Police: Third Sparta Man Charged with DWI in One Week

SPARTA, NJ- For the third time in less than a week Sparta Police have charged a Sparta resident with driving while intoxicated.  On November 27. Cpl. Marc Rubino stopped a 2015 Jeep, after seeing it being driven down the middle of the road, according to police.
