SPOTSWOOD, NJ - Junior Chris Moran netted a hat trick in the Spotswood High School boys varsity soccer team's 3-2 win over Carteret on Friday. After a scoreless first half, Spotswood took a 2-0 lead on Moran's first two goals. Carteret came back to tie the score on goals from Nicholas Garraro and Jefferson Sanchez. With five minutes left in the second half, Moran buried a pass from Luke Tharney to give the Chargers their second win of the season. Edozie Okafor had an assist for Spotswood on one of Moran's goals while Gaffaro had a goal and an assist for Carteret. Foti Xadia made four saves for Carteret while Andrew Bishara made ten saves for the Chargers.

Spotswood will take on John F. Kennedy Memorial High School at the Spotswood High School Varsity Soccer Field at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The time was moved in order to accommodate the 1 p.m. kickoff for the Spotswood High School's home opener against Dunellen High School this afternoon. The junior varsity game between the Chargers and JFK was postponed this morning.
