TRENTON, NJ - Gov. Chris Christie has withdrawn the nominations of eight people for judgeships in Essex County that included former Berkeley Heights Mayor David Cohen and current Township Administrator Linda Cavanaugh.

The withdrawal was made after the Senate judiciary committee refused to sign off on the nominees without asking some further questions.

The nominations were made in the effort to fill 21 vacant judgeships in the county.
