The Cranford Hotel
I've got to say, I've friends living in Cranford that absolutely love this place. They were going out for a "Date night" on Sunday, and called to ask us to join them. My friend told me she was having the "Dinner Special" which cost $20 for an appetizer, main dish, and dessert."
I replied, "WOW!"
My favorite at The Cranford Hotel, is their Burger. I've never been disappointed, for the burger arrives medium-well, just as I ordered it, with fries, on a soft roll. And it is always delicious!
Established in 1946, the restaurant is housed in what was once a small hotel. Boasting a menu of appetizers, entrees, sandwiches, burgers and salads, the chef always has something new and different to tempt your taste.. Currently popular dishes are the housemade duck confit, duck rice soup, duck shepherd's pie and Asian inspired duck breast with farro rice. A type of nutrient-rich, whole grain, it may also be found in the toasted farro salad that incorporates pomegranate seeds and other seasonal designer foods.
At The Cranford Hotel, we try to utilize local produce. "We believe local is better because it is fresher," said, Head chef, and Cranford native Chris Faitoute.
The Cranford Hotel has a fine bar, that serves local craft beers from Jersey breweries," said general manager David Carracino. "The Hotel not only enjoys a good reputation for their fresh, seasonal food, and fine bar service, the staff proises a classic American Tavern experience using local, seasonal ingredients."
Somthing has to be going on at The Cranford Hotel, for the buzz is quite evident. Dear
friends who have been married for years, planned a "date" night for Sunday. And all day my friend was deliberating whether she was going to have a burger or a chicken dish, replete with an appetizer and dessert. And may I add, according to her, "All for $20."
Stay tuned. I know I'll see you at The Cranford Hotel Restaurant & Pub!
