CLARK, NJ — A 24 year old man was charged on Wednesday with eight counts of burglary to a motor vehicle and six counts of theft after a string of vehicle burglaries in Clark last month according to Clark Police. Detectives allege Jonathan A. Joseph, of Springfield Avenue in Newark is responsible for the Sept. 4 incidents around town.
On September 11 Clark Police released a video asking residents to help identify a suspect in a rash of vehicle burglaries. Joseph was identified, arrested, charged and taken to Essex County Jail.
Clark Police are asking residents to remove valuables from vehicles, hide garage door openers, keep key fobs secure and lock car doors at all times. Additionally police warn citizens to lock doors and garage doors as there have been incidents in nearby towns where homes have been entered during the night to retrieve keys to cars parked in driveways.
