TRENTON, NJ -- Michael Sot, 20, died early Tuesday afternoon from injuries sustained during a head-on collision Sunday according to information from Ewing police.
Sot, a Clark resident and student at The College of New Jersey, was the driver of a car hit head-on by David Lamar V, who has since been charged with driving while impaired. According to Ewing police, vehicular homicide will now be added to the charges already filed against Lamar.
In a cruel irony, Sot was the designated driver in his vehicle early Sunday morning when Lamar crossed over the yellow lines causing an accident that sent six people to the hospital in critical condition.
"I am heartbroken to share that Michael Sot died today from injuries he sustained in an auto accident on Pennington Road on December 2. Michael was a sophomore math major and a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity," wrote Kathryn A. Foster, President of The College of New Jersey, in a letter to students, faculty and staff.
A prayer vigil was held at Clark’s Municipal Complex at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4. Visitors to the gathering are asked to park in the parking lot of Arthur L. Johnson High School, where Sot was a baseball star and a member of the National Honor Society.
