CLARK, NJ – The Arthur L. Johnson High School Football team has been placed on quarantine after two players on an opposing team in a scrimmage tested positive for COVID-19 according to Clark’s Superintendent Ed Grande.  

ALJ faced off in a game against Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School on Thursday, September 24, and found out in the days following about the positive cases. 

Grande said a district employee also has a confirmed case of COVID-19.  He said the parents and guardians of students who may have been in close contact with this staff member have been notified.  Additional details were not released due to HIPAA guidelines.

School officials said they are working with the local health department, state officials and following the Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines to assure safety standards.   Grande said cleaning and disinfecting protocols are ongoing and frequent.
