Mayor Michael Kelly, candidate for reelection to the Township Committee, will host two informal coffee and conversation sessions on the two Wednesday mornings before the July 7 Primary Election.
Anyone with questions or comments about Township issues is invited to join Mayor Kelly at 10:30 a.m. on the back patio at the Fairmount Deli at 765 Fairmount Avenue on Wednesdays June 24 and July 1.
“With the return of outdoor dining, we can kill two birds with one stone by supporting a local restaurant and by discussing local issues before the Primary Election,” Mayor Kelly said.
The informal coffees will offer opportunities for face-to-face conversations in small groups while maintaining safe social distancing.
The Primary Election this year has been postponed until Tuesday, July 7, due to the restrictions imposed in response to the coronavirus pandemic. All active Republican and Democratic voters by now should have received a mail-in ballot, and all inactive and unaffiliated voters should have received an application to request a ballot. Completed ballots returned by mail must be postmarked no later than Election Day, July 7.
Election officials recommend that voters use their mail-in ballots rather than voting in person on Election Day. Only one polling place in the Township will be open on Election Day, the polling place at Long Hill Chapel.
