SHORT HILLS: September 23, 2013 – Community Congregational Church in Short Hills is preparing for its semi-annual Charity Rummage Sale to benefit those in need in our local communities. This year’s Spring Charity Rummage Sale will be held on Saturday, October 5th from 9am-2pm. All proceeds from the sale go directly to community outreach and grants programs, including the “Mobile Meals” program, which feeds 200 homeless in Newark on the last Sunday of every month, and Harmony Education and Life Partners in Irvington.
Senior Minister of Community Congregational Church, The Reverend Johann Bosman, said: “The Charity Rummage Sale at Community Church benefits so many people. Those who donate their gently used items can feel good that they have cleared their homes of a little clutter and contributed to a good cause. Those who come to purchase items at the sale find great bargains, and all of the money raised from the sale is used to fund the church’s charitable works in the community. This event is the primary fundraiser for our community work and we hope people will come out to support a worthy cause.”
This year, the Charity Rummage Sale will include a Boutique section for higher-end Women’s and Children’s clothing. The sale also includes furniture, housewares, electronics, toys, and sporting equipment. Donations of gently used items are accepted 24 hours a day at the drop box located behind the church. TVs, computers, books or large exercise equipment cannot be accepted.
Community Congregational Church is located on the corner of Hartshorn Drive and Parsonage Hill Road, at 200 Hartshorn Drive, Short Hills.
