UNION, NJ -  For the 50th year, Connecticut Farms Boy Scouts participated in the Pinewood Derby competition on Saturday, a racing event for unpowered, unmanned miniature cars.

Fifty cars were entered and raced in the competition from six dens:  Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos, Arrow of Light – Boys and Arrow of Light – Girls.  The top three winners of the Grand Finals race for Cub Scout Pack 68 were:

  • 1st Place:  Malachi Frazier
  • 2nd Place:  Micah Kruger-Serrano
  • 3rd Place:  Gabriel Mendoza

Below are the other racers that competed in the Grand Finals race.  The following racers were the best in their den, but couldn't edge out Malachi, Micah, or Gabriel in the Grand Finals round.

"With 50 cars entered, it was a long day," said Pinewood Derby Chairperson Greg Yapczenski, "but fun".
