SUMMIT, NJ - The Connection is partnering with the Zzak G. Applaud Our Kids Foundation to help provide children -- regardless of economic background -- an outlet to shine in a performing arts class. Students take ongoing lessons at local performing arts studios close to their home. The Connection is the newest studio to partner with the Foundation to provide dance and performing arts classes to local students.
The Zzak G. Applaud Our Kids Foundation gives children the opportunity to find their own voice, increase their self-esteem, give them a sense of belonging, and provide them with positive reinforcement through the performing arts. The foundation provides support for children ages 7-18 who meet the financial needs requirements to take ongoing lessons in vocal instruction, dance, acting, and instrumental music for the entire school year and for summer programs.
The Connection’s Dance and Performing Arts Department offers classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and performing arts to dancers from 18 months of age to adults.
“We are honored to partner with an organization whose mission aligns so closely with our own,” says The Connection’s Dance and Performing Arts Director, Jessica Fascenelli Weisenbach. “Dance gives children a safe space to learn and grow. Together with the Zzak G. Applaud Our Kids Foundation, we can help build confidence with each step and make classes even more accessible to kids in our community.”
The Connection is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing lives and fostering community. The programs and services offered bring together individuals of diverse economic circumstances, race, gender, age, sexual orientation, culture, and physical and mental abilities to acquire skills, build self-esteem, and, through association, develop the respect that eliminates prejudice.
