Gallery U Boutique in Westfield will be presenting a special exhibition of artwork by members of the Contemporary Art Group. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, January 9 from 6-9pm. The exhibition will remain on display until February 6, 2014. Sales from the exhibit will benefit the gallery’s mission.
Participating artists include Francesca Azzara, Millicent K. Brody, Virginia Carroll, Michael Endy, Maryann Ficker, Diane Gallo, Maxine King, Howard Levine, M. McCrary-Anderson, Linnea Rhodes, Sharon Sayegh, Dorothy Siclare, Rosalia Verdun, Kerri Ann Wandlass and Gail Winbury.
The Contemporary Art Group is a non-profit, collegial organization of working artists who meet on a regular basis at Watchung Arts Center and exhibit their work together. CAG is a supportive group where there is mutual respect among members, where members exchange ideas, provide information about exhibit opportunities, and share their own artistic development. The primary goal of Gallery U is to provide a place for people with traumatic brain injuries a place to work on a daily basis in order to generate an income, build their self-esteem and participate in vocational training. All Gallery sale profits goes towards the gallery rent, the clients’ pay and the purchase of art supplies for artists with disabilities.
