Contemporary Art in NJ Series at the Bernards Township Library

Basking Ridge, NJ—A two week art series entitled “Contemporary Art in NJ” will be offered by Dr. Anne Swartz on Thursdays August 21 and August 28 at the Bernards Township Library. Each week the series will focus on an exhibit of contemporary art currently on display in New Jersey. Each lecture will begin at 7:30 p.m. Topics are as follows: Thursday August 21: Momentum: Women/Art/Technology currently at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and Thursday August 28: Lee Bontecou: Drawn Worlds at Princeton University Art Museum. 
Anne Swartz, the curator of the Contemporary Art Series at Bernards Township Library, has been a faculty member at the Savannah College of Arts and design for nineteen years, both as an on-campus and eLearning professor, after earning her Ph. D. in Art History from Case Western Reserve University. Also a Fulbright Scholar, Swartz’s interests range from women in art, feminist art, contemporary art, critical theory, and environmental art. She additionally leads art tours and has been presenting program series on contemporary and urban art at the Bernards Township Library not only to encourage patrons to visit contemporary art in the area but also to give a glimpse of exhibits to one who may not be able to visit in person.
