SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The Borough Council has announced that it will be repaving nine roads within the next few weeks as part of its 2013 road-improvement program.
At its June 24 meeting, the council awarded the bid for the projects, which totaled almost $600,000, to Stilo Paving.
As part of the program, the Borough will complete Stage II of the Sampton Avenue project, which began last year when the council used a state DOT grant to repave the road and add curbs between Clinton Avenue and Borman Avenue. The second stage completes the work to Plainfield Avenue.
In addition to Sampton Avenue, the Borough will be paving Lowden Avenue, Willow Avenue, Bolliger Way, Skene Drive, Libourel Road, Lafeyette Place, Strong Place, and Sims Place (from Montrose Avenue to Strong Place). Because the bid came in lower than expected, the council is also looking at possibly adding one more road to the list.
In addition to the work through the road-improvement program, the Council also expects to repave Montrose Avenue with money from this year’s DOT grant.
