SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit Public School District has disclosed that an "individual" at Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School (LCJSMS) has tested positive for COVID-19.
In a February 22 letter to the "Summit Public Schools Community," which was subsequently obtained by TAPinto Summit from a third party, Superintendent of Schools Scott Hough and LCJSMS Principal Dr. Donna Gallo stated, "The District has been notified that an individual from Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School has tested positive for COVID-19. Our Nursing Department, in collaboration with the Department of Health, conducted contact tracing. Potential close contacts at the Middle School have been identified and notified. Health officials did not recommend closing the school."
