Cranford Completes Season Sweep of Scotch Plains-Fanwood in Boys Basketball


CRANFORD, NJ - A second-half rally enabled the Cranford varsity boys basketball team to complete a season sweep of Scotch Plains-Fanwood with a 56-41 victory Thursday night in Cranford.

Scotch Plains-Fanwood led, 28-25, at halftime, but Cranford outcsored the Raiders, 31-18, in the last 16 minutes to close out the victory. Cranford also defeated the Raiders on Jan. 10.

Chris Gibbons scored nine points and Rashon Gary added eight points for Scotch Plains-Fanwood, which fell to 8-8.

On Tuesday, the Raiders defeated Rahway, 67-64. Leo Ramos led SPF with 17 points and Andrew Voysest scored 12--including 10 in the second half--in the victory over Rahway. 

Scotch Plains-Fanwood is scheduled to visit Roselle on Friday afternoon.
