CRANFORD - The Cranford Township Committee will vote this Tuesday on whether to allow the drive-in movie theater to return this spring.

The drive-in theater was located in the Orange Avenue Pool parking lot and run by Cranford Movie Theater owner Doreen Sayegh from June 2020 through November 2020. The Township Committee unanimously agreed to allow the drive-in theater to return at the February 23 workshop meeting, and barring any late minute hold-ups, the formal vote is expected to pass at Tuesday's Official Meeting at 8 p.m.

Upon the vote passing, the anticipated return date is Monday, April 26 and is likely to run through November, per conversations and weather pending. While the drive-in theater featured mostly classics and oldies, Sayegh says there's a chance she will be able to show new releases.
