Grant applications for the next funding cycle of the Community Fund at the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation are due April 21.
“The Community Fund is an unrestricted fund that allows the foundation’s board to approve grants responsive to the changing needs of the community,” said CRCF Executive Director Karen Niemic Buchheit. “The grants, typically between $100 and $2,000, help nonprofit organizations be responsive and creative in their initiatives by providing startup funds to get projects off the ground.”
Applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations.
CRCF’s board reviews applications based on the applying organization’s stability, the impact its work has on the community, the feasibility of the project proposed in the grant application and the role a grant from the Community Fund would play in the overall project, Ms. Buchheit noted.
CRCF makes grants from the Community Fund in November and May every year.
In November the CRCF board of directors approved four grants. Two grants supported feasibility studies and strategic planning for the YMCA of the Twin Tiers and Healthy Community Alliance. Another grant provided funding for special landscape lighting at the Allegany Public Library to support continuing beautification of the Allegany Main Street.
The final grant will support an outdoor movie series, held by Olean Business Development to encourage and celebrate downtown revitalizations.
Applications are available online at cattfoundation.org under the grant seekers tab. Applications may be completed online and emailed to email@example.com.
