LEXINGTON, Ky. — Donna Crookston of Saltsburg, Pa. placed second in the 2017 USEF Single Horse Combined Driving National Championship held at the Kentucky Classic CDE.
Crookston and her 9-year-old Dutch Harness gelding, Viktor, were one of only three clear rounds in the cones phase of the division.

The pair finished second in dressage, then dropped to third after the marathon.

With no penalty points to account for in cones, Crookston advanced from third place to second place overall with a combined score of 151.94 points.

Nifty Hamilton (Alva, Fla.) and Makari Design secured the title of national champion with a combined score of 143.31 points after the dressage, marathon, and cones phases.
Crookston (Saltsburg, Pa.) and Viktor, also competed with the U.S. Team at last year’s world championships. This pair most recently won the CAI2*-H1 Bromont earlier this year.
