Danny Glover Joins Bill Cosby to Support Orange Mayor Warren in Back to School Rally

ORANGE, NJ - The stars are out all day in Orange, NJ on September 2, 2014

Actor, activist and humanitarian Danny Glover will join Dr. Bill Cosby on shining a light on the importance of providing all the puzzle pieces to create better neighborhoods.  Earlier Dr. Cosby will participate in a Back to School Rally and school supply giveaway at the Orange Preparatory School, located at 400 Central Avenue.  The outdoor event is set to provide a family-friendly experience from noon to 7pm with Cosby slated to speak at 3pm about youth achievement and the need for communities to invest in it.  If it rains program will be held inside the school.

“We are very excited that iconic stars like Dr. Bill Cosby, who built a career showing the importance of family life and highlighting both the humor and the seriousness of it,  and Danny Glover, an activist, humanitarian and champion of the arts, are coming out to rally our youth, their families and our communities at large.  Dr. Cosby and Mr. Glover will each be here to inspire Orange residents to continue to be better neighbors – creating better neighborhoods through education, crime prevention and championing the arts.  These are all valuable pieces to the puzzle of moving Orange forward and showing that we believe in this city.  We are being watched and people are interested in developing here, raising families here and contributing in a positive way to the economy,” said Mayor Warren.

Mr. Glover will participate in a one-on-one interview entitled, “An Evening with Danny Glover.” with the Hon. Mayor Dwayne D. Warren, Esq. hosted at the ValleyArts Firehouse Gallery at 580 Forest Street in Orange at 8pm.  The discussion will highlight the value arts appreciation and cultivation brings to the development of a community.
