MONTCLAIR, NJ - DeCamp Buses have temporarily stopped running. DeCamp BusoOfficials notified the public in an abrupt announcement around 1PM on Tuesday, that the bus service would be brought to a halt a few hours later.
The following was sent to the public, "Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, DeCamp Bus Lines will be temporarily suspending all service effective Wednesday 03/25/2020. The last trip will depart the PABT tonight, Tuesday 3/24/2020. We will post additional updates as information becomes available."
DeCamp Bus Lines, located in Montclair, first began operating in 1870 and is a family owned transportation company. They offer daily commuter & charter services. However, the pandemic has hit the business pretty hard with daily commutes to New York coming to a halt and schools closed, so no field trips.
NJ Transit buses will continue normal weekly service schedules, but trains have started operating on a President's Day schedule.
Only rear-door boarding is allowed as a precautionary measure and NJ Transit officials are encouraging travel limited to essential personnel only. NJ Transit mobile ticketing app or paper ticket purchases are encouraged prior to boarding.
