DeVito Home Run, 3 RBI Lead Chatham Softball in MCT, 7-6, Over Jefferson

JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, NJ -  Senior catcher Candace DeVito led the offense with three hits, including a two-run homer, three RBI and two runs scored for Chatham in a 7-6 victory over Jefferson in the first round of the Morris County Tournament on Tuesday.

Chatham will play fifth-seeded Montville in the MCT quarterfinals on Saturday.

Isabel Chin contributed a single, a triple, two runs scored and an RBI for Chatham. Winning pitcher Susie Wolsch struck out 2 and gave up 5 earned runs in tossing 7 innings. Shea Matta was 1-3 with a double and run scored for the Lady Cougars.

The Agnes Lunetta Faith Scholarship award is presented annually to a seventh-grade student as a $1,000 scholarship toward their eighth-grade tuition at St. Patrick School.
