SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – National sporting-goods retailer Dick’s Sporting Goods will be arriving this fall in South Plainfield after a total renovation of the former Pathmark building in Hadley Center.
The chain received approval from the zoning board in December 2102 and began construction in the spring. As part of the project, the retailer is gutting the inside of the building and will be adding a new facade that matches its other locations throughout the country.
As part of its approvals, the zoning board allowed the company to exceed the town’s 35-foot height requirements. The front facade, which includes the familiar Dick’s windows and logos, will be a little over 43 feet high.
Dick’s Sporting Goods was founded in 1948 and offers a full line of sporting goods, apparel, and footwear. The family-owned chain has over 500 stores.
