HAWTHORNE, NJ - Residents who have registered to vote but have not yet received a ballot in the mail have some options ahead of Election Day.  The borough of Hawthorne released guidance to residents still waiting to get their ballot, directing them to take the following steps:

E-mail Passaic County at countyclerkelections@passaiccountynj.org with the subject "Request for 2nd Ballot" and include your name, address, date of birth, and a phone number to reach you.

Residents can also visit the Passaic County Clerk's Office at the Passaic County Administration Building, 401 Grand Street, Room 130, in Paterson or the Clerk's Satellite Office at 1237 Ringwood Avenue, Wanaque.  The offices will be able to provide a ballot starting Saturday, October 24.  The offices are closed on Sundays.

  • 10/27 8:30am-8:00pm (Paterson) 1:30pm-8:00pm (Wanaque)
  • 10/28 8:30am-4:30pm (Paterson) 1:30pm-6:30pm (Wanaque)
  • 10/29 8:30am-8:00pm (Paterson) 1:30pm-8:00pm (Wanaque)
  • 10/30 8:30am-4:30pm (Paterson) 1:30pm-6:30pm (Wanaque)
  • 10/31 9:00am-4:00pm (Paterson) 9:00am-4:00pm (Wanaque)
  • 11/1 Closed (Paterson) Closed (Wanaque)
  • 11/2 8:30am-4:30pm (Paterson) 1:30pm-6:30pm (Wanaque)
  • 11/3 Election Day 6:00am-8:00pm (Paterson) Closed (Wanaque)

Paper provisional ballots can also be cast in person on November 3rd at the following locations between 6:00am-8:00pm.  Note, voters may hand-deliver only their own ballot.

Wards 1 and 2 - Lincoln Middle School Cafeteria - 230 Hawthorne Avenue

Ward 3 - Hawthorne High School Cafeteria (Bamford Avenue entrance) - 160 Parmelee Avenue

Ward 4 - Roosevelt Elementary School Gym (Hutchinson Avenue entrance) - 50 Roosevelt Avenue

Voters can also deposit their mail-in ballots at the secure drop box found in the parking lot of the Municipal Building, 445 Lafayette Avenue.  The box is under constant surveillance and is emptied by Passaic County authorities each day.

Lastly, ballots can be mailed in if they are postmarked by November 3.
